Boost Productivity in your Home Office

  1. Stay Organized

Being Organized is essential to a successful workday. Keep a calendar or planner to stay consistent with tasks. If you don’t have a specific plan created, you're probably not giving 100% to that task. This is separate from your work or computer calendar. Keep a notepad to create a list and cross tasks as you knock them out. This is also a mini psychology lesson of positive reinforcement: every time you cross off a task, you are reinforcing a feeling of accomplishment and increasing your motivation to complete the task again to recreate that same feeling of accomplishment.

  2. Morning Mindfulness Practice

Start your day off with a boost. First, though, get in the zone. Every morning before, I begin working an hour before I see my first and administrative duties, including answering client emails, clinical notes & wrapping up any other loose ends to start my day off “Fresh. ” I spend 10-15 minutes doing one of the following before I begin my morning tasks.

    • Podcast

    • Ted Talks

    • “Work Spotify PlayList”

    • Morning Meditation

  3. Relaxing Space

Self-soothe while you work, create a relaxing space that motivates you! For example, light a candle or have a diffuser going in the background to help you decrease the tension as hectic unplanned hiccups pop up during the workday.

  4. Office Decor

Create a space to inspire you! If you have been looking for an excuse to go to Homegoods, YOUR WELCOME! If you are a college graduate, hang that Diploma on the wall! You worked so hard for years to get that diploma. Honor your achievement, milestone and, success. Look at it every day and Be Proud. After all, you lost a lot of sleep getting that paper. If you feel stuck in your workspace, that burnout will translate into your work ethic.

  5. Motivation

If you notice, you are still struggling to sustain motivation. Consider exploring your local collab workspaces in your area for a day. Rates and availability for these spaces vary depending on your location and needs.
