Be the CEO of Your Life: Wellness Edition

Step 1: Business Plan

Similar to any successful business. The story of success begins with various drafts of a Business plan. Your life is the most significant investment that you will ever participate in. Yes, this is another excellent reason to go to therapy! Make sure you are living the best version of your life. Be mindful to remember there is a difference between bad days and bad weeks if you are beginning to notice a pattern or consistentcy in the not-so-great moments. This is a red flag, that you need support and could benefit from therapy. Unfortunately, career burnout or negative emotions don’t just disappear as much as we dismiss or avoid them. Pushing through day to day life unhappy, only further increases the severity of the negative emotions we are experiencing and does not make them disappear as much as wish they did. Therapy is an opportunity to learn the strategic tools to decrease and eliminate the bad days without relapse of them. Consider, scheduling an appointment and try a session of therapy if you feel you are noticing this pattern in your own life. Resilient Wellness offers a free 15- minute FREE consultation that you can schedule online utilizing our online booking system with this link to find out if therapy is the right option for you! Life is too short to miss out on the moments you should be thriving in!

Step 2: SWOT Analysis

If you are a CEO, or have ever owned a business or have experience consulting with a marketing specialist, you know what a SWOT analysis is. If you are not familiar with SWOT analysis is, here is the short informal definition, this is a strategic plan that helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses of your plan. This is an essential concept, when working on becoming the CEO of our own lives. We as humans get stuck in a cycle in which we ruminate or contemplate past decisions, mistakes or experiences. Yet. we don’t make active changes in our lives…. then repeat that cycle. We experience feelings of shame, disappointment, regret and then reflect on them rather than grow from them. It’s important we take the SWOT analysis approach to evaluate what areas need to grow and how to support them. Yes, this is something you can do in therapy as well!

Step 3: Self Evaluation, The Wellness Check-in

Having a plan can help you stay on track to become the  CEO of your life. Having the right plan is the foundation of your schedule & business plan to how you would like to run your biggest investment: You! Back to our organization tips, you want to create a schedule that has balance & helps honor your wellness goals.  Wellness means honoring all aspects of your life. Take a minute and write down 1 goal for each aspect of your wellness. If you don’t know where to begin, no worries. Below I have created a self-evaluation guide as the RW blogging therapist to help you check in with your wellness.

Once a month at minimum check-in to see how you are doing on meeting these areas of wellness

Ready to create your wellness guide?

Grab a journal, planner or create an excel spreadsheet to identify your goals in each wellness category.

Next, identify how you'd like to measure your progress in each category.

Be mindful of how you will break the cycle of rumination (refer back to #2 Above) to progress and make changes to grow rather than get stuck in a cycle of negative self-talk, disappointment and, consistency when you feel you are not motivated.

Put that plan into action and schedule an appointment with your therapist at Resilient Wellness to help you identify insight into the area’s you are struggling to continue to make progress in or feel stuck in.
